The Albert P. O’Donnell Funeral Home has been serving families throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania with compassion and integrity since 1862.  The family owned and operated business has always reflected sincerity, quality, and professionalism. Presently there are two licensed funeral directors in the O’Donnell family, Albert P. O’Donnell Jr. and Albert P. O’Donnell III, a fourth generation funeral director.

The O’Donnell Funeral was established by the late Thomas J. O’Donnell Jr. and his late wife; Ellen Smith O’Donnell in 1862.  The first funeral home was located on North Apple Street in Dunmore.   Mr. O’Donnell operated the funeral home until his death in 1927.  He was succeeded in business by his son, the late Albert P. O’Donnell.   Under his management, the funeral home relocated in 1941 to its current address as the Albert P. O’Donnell Funeral Home. Mr. O’Donnell served as the proprietor of the family business until his death in 1959.   His wife, Annette Dougherty O’Donnell served as the director of the funeral home until her retirement in 1995. Her son and grandson are the current proprietors of the family business.

The O’Donnell family personally addresses of all of your family’s needs during your time of bereavement.   We direct and handle all aspects of the funeral service; we do not hire or contract with outside businesses or individuals.   We are a truly family owned and operated business we are committed to you and your family.

The Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home represents four generations of service to families in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The O’Donnell family sincerely believes in its motto, Our Family Serving Your Family.
